Albert Dock. Liverpool
The International Slavery Museum in Liverpool was opened in 2007 on Slavery Remembrance Day and on the bicentenary of the abolition of the British slave trade.
The Museum promotes the understanding of transatlantic slavery and its enduring impact. This was the first time I have managed to visit and I am very proud to have a couple of photographs of mine from Africa featured as part of the exhibition.
One of the images (seen here) is Nankabirwa Christine Mpagi from Kampala a widow looking after 28 grandchildren after all her own children died of Aids.
The other image is a Kenyan child walking through an open sewer in Kibera, the largest slum in Africa. See gallery images here
