The Devil’s Valley – in the footsteps of Mr. Turner
Apparently favorite haunt of Charles Darwin and WilliamTurner, the Dysynni Valley is stunningly beautiful, even in the rain! From Tywyn beach with its ancient petrified forest and 6,000 year old ancient peat beds to the Devil’s Valley and the legend of the Devil’s Stone (featured image).
Ancient shepherd inscriptions on the revered Devil’s Rock in Devil’s Valley. Legend has it that villagers used to skip church to dance and make merry on the stones. One Easter Sunday the devil appeared dressed as an ass and scared them back to church. Dysynni Valley. Snowdonia National Park. Wales.

Spanish Miners Mountain Battle
Miners win running battles with police in Cinera after they have blocked the mountain road. The miners have been on strike since the government announced cuts to mining subsidies due to austerity cuts which will mean an end to mining. Leon, Northern Spain.
